Unfathomable! Incomprehensible, difficult to understand, and clear as mud! How a mindless game like FarmVille has grown so much larger than Twitter is beyond us. As ungraspable as this news sounds, we assure you it is true according the the gang at TechRadar.com. We are more than slightly aghast.
“69 million active users are using FarmVille alone, that’s more users than Twitter.” I mean really…FarmVille are you serious? It is a silly, mindless game, a complete time suck, though definitely big on cute.
Sure, FarmVille is social – in that you can walk to your neighbor’s farm and help weed the garden. Always one of our most favorite chores – NOT.
And yes, in a rudimentary way FarmVille facilitates connections since you need more neighbors to grow your farm. Beyond that … there is only cute. Is cute and mindless enough? Apparently 69 million users seem to think so.
We know many of Twitter’s detractors will say that it is also a time suck, silly and, to an extent, mindless. Clearly they don’t get Twitter like we do. Conversely, we freely admit that FarmVille’s value is lost on us. If you are a fan, feel free to help us understand.
Evidently the adorable cartoon people, plants, animals, and farm accouterments that populate FarmVille are part of the draw, but there must be some evil genius working in the background. And we’ve got to hand it to them – they really hit it out of the park didn’t they? FarmVille is grabbing many more eyeballs than Twitter right now and is posting incredible stats for time on their site. So, it would appear that Facebook and the game developer Zynga have trumped Twitter once again.
What do you think?
P.S. If cartoon farm animals, cute or otherwise, ever show up on Twitter – we will officially become the blog ‘formally known as TwitterFools!’

I've never played it!
That's okay Peter, you haven't missed much. And a busy guy like you probably doesn't have time for virtual farming.
Dang, that is strange! Twitter is so much more interesting. Guess when people sit down at FB, their minds just go blank. It is the only explanation that makes sense.
Thanks for your useful info, I think it's a good topic
