Utah has been long known as a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Endless horizons and breathtaking vista welcome natives and visitors alike to more than a handful of national and state parks, ski resorts, and championship golf courses. But Utah can claim much more than just natural beauty. It’s cities offer art and culture and its communities literally wrap you in safety boasting one of the lowest crime rates among the states. With so much going for it, it is no wonder Utah is the first to provide the nation with a State Twitter Portal.
On the outside, UtahTweets may seem like a simple idea, but to us it is another expression of the changing way that people consume news and information. People no longer want to wait for the next newscast or even wade through a newspaper to find what they want. Real time, on demand information is what people crave these days and that’s exactly what Utah Tweets delivers.

UtahTweets isn’t fancy or complicated. It is straightforward information organized into logical categories that effortlessly feeds those hungry for real-time information. That’s what we think anyway. Here’s what its creators say about it:
Utah Tweets is a new generation news and information portal. UtahTweets enables visitors to scan news headlines from multiple credible organizations within a single browser window. The site monitors the popular Twitter social media platform, funneling short headlines (known as “tweets”) into useful category panes. The result is a website that allows visitors to quickly digest the day’s top news headlines.
Further, Utah Tweets claim they are “a first-of-its-kind microblog aggregator and news portal.” We’ve done a little research and can’t find any evidence that they are simply boasting. So, you have to ask yourself, how long will it be before your state tweets? Follow the Leaders in Tweeting States @utah_tweets NOTE that the underscore is important to follow the right Tweeple!
Until next time, be well and check out UtahTweets and let us know what you think.
