Twendz is a pretty slick site with one main purpose – to leverage the power of the twitter search engine find conversations about the topic you specify. On the Twendz site, they say:
twendz is a Twitter mining Web application that utilizes the power of Twitter Search, highlighting conversation themes and sentiment of the tweets that talk about topics you are interested in. As the conversation changes, so does twendz by evaluating up to 70 tweets at a time. When new tweets are posted, they are dynamically updated, minute by minute.
Twendz is amazingly simple to use, just add a search term and hit the search button. The twendz engine with then listen for tweets with the terms you asked for and display them in more or less real time. You can control the speed at which tweets related to your chose topic get refreshed.
Twendz also displays a standard word cloud based on the posts you have already mined, as well as a list of sub-topics that appear under those tweets.
Overall, I like its simplicity, speed, and design clarity. This is a web app that doesn’t pretend to do more than it does – it mines tweets. That’s all it needs to do, and it does it pretty well if you ask me.
