We’ve all wondered from time to time why a particular topic trends on Twitter. Some of the them seemingly come out of nowhere and rise to the top of the shared Twitter consciousness. Well, we are pleased to say the mystery is solved thanks to a most helpful site that flew under our radar until now.
If you haven’t visited WhatTheTrend.com we suggest you check it out. When we wrote our Twitter Trending Topic Plugin for WordPress we observed that why some topics trend on Twitter is mystery to us. That was before we knew, before we saw the light at What the Trend.
The site features a easy to navigate home page with a column containing nuggets of tasty information to satisfy your hunger to know why. Here are a few recent entries for the topics that are trending right now…as we write this post:
Clicking on any one of the entries delivers the user to a page that contains the latest tweets, news, and photos surrounding the trending topic all arranged in an easy to navigate and visual appealing layout. You’ll also learn when the topic started to trend and when the hashtag or topic was defined.
