TwitterFools Takes in the View @TweetVisor

by TwitterFools Editorial Staff on July 28, 2009

tweetvisorBack in January @techcrunch reviewed TweetVisor and observed that Nelu Lazar’s creation was “the best browser based solutions we’ve seen.” At that time, the tool was still new and it seemed likely there may still be a few ‘hiccups’ for the fledgling twitter app.

Well, we are pleased to say that if there were any hiccups along the way, they’ve been pretty well ironed out.  TwitterFools has been using the interface pretty steadily over the past few weeks and we haven’t noticed so much as a tweet out of place.   In fact, TweetVisor is a pretty smooth operator.  As far as free online tools go – it ranks right up there with sliced bread.  Okay, okay – sliced bread isn’t an online app, free or otherwise, and like others we aren’t sure how it became the quality measure for all things but since it is -  and since TweetVisor is cool and feature packed – we’re gonna make the comparison!

Upon signing in to TweetVisor you can opt for a light or dark interface and from there…the magic begins.  Once you sign in to one account, you have the option of signing into other twitter accounts and nimbly switch between and manage them from one interface – much like the Seesmic Desktop or TweetDeck.  The default configuration features a large tweet composition box at the top with your friends tweets, @ replys and DMs arranged in three columns beneath.

Just between the composer and the tweets users are presented a number of options including: Friend’s timelines, Me, Favorites, Groups, Followers List, Search, Hot Topics and more…there is even an integrated Feed Reader that you can use here.

The interface is so easy to use that we were up-to-speed in no time.  As an alternative to a desktop app, TweetVisor is every bit as useful as Seesmic and TweetDeck.  The inclusion of the feed reader instead of facebook integration as in the desktop apps – but honestly we like this arrangement far better.  We can tweet and get our news at the same time from one great little app.

Okay all you TwitterFools out there – go give it a shot at TweetVisor and let us know what you think! And, while you are out there on the web – you should follow @TwitFools too.
